|the tide is turning|

this is one stubborn baby. hopefully she will make an appearance soon!

in other news, the CSA has made a turning point! wonderful bounty this week... i will have to start getting creative in the kitchen.

corn x 6
tomatoes x 4
zucchini x 4
zebra eggplant x 5
lettuce x 1
green bell peppers x 3
seedless watermelon x 1
cantaloupe x 1
raspberries x 1 pint

the watermelon! yum. that was a surprise. we're glad to start getting some fruit.

i think there will be eggplant parmesan soon. but i'm going to need some ideas on how to use these veggies up....

|39 weeks, still pregnant|

this week, the CSA gave us terrific bounty:

corn
tomatoes
cherry tomatoes
green bell peppers
zebra eggplant
zucchini
cucumbers

matt has already requested zucchini bread and stuffed peppers. looks like there will be some cooking this weekend! i just have to find the energy.

i forgot to pick up the vegetables one week. i think it was a subconscious block because we had too many vegetables. we even had to throw some out! with the weather being as hot as it is, and me being pretty beat by the time i get home, we haven't been doing much cooking. when we signed up for the CSA, i didn't think i'd be as tired as i am. i'm pretty sure there would be a lot more home cooking if we'd done this some other year.

on the baby front, i've relinquished all fantasies that my body is actually mine, anymore. it's become a baby making and baby feeding machine. i'm ok with it, but it is a strange realization. actually, it's pretty amazing.

there's a balance between the fear of going into labor and the desire to have the baby now! i think the desire to have the baby is winning out.

it's hard to get matt to walk with the weather so miserably hot and humid. i told him he could pick a mall this weekend, and we'd go walking.
